Fencing Ireland is pleased to announce that our selection policy for international events has been updated for the 2024-2028 period.

While much of the policy remains consistent, there are some key changes from the previous iteration, including:
- For all categories of event, qualification is now based on results in the preceding season or the current season at the time of the application.
- Expansion of qualification routes for FIE Satellites, U23 Circuit events, Senior FIE World Cups & Grand Prix events, including addition of national circuit events in many countries as potential routes to achieving selection criteria. These changes will give fencers an improved progression pathway to the highest level of the sport. A pathway with more options and a greater flexibility to allow athletes to plan their season as it suits them.
